CPR Classes

NWFR is offering CPR/AED classes. Classes are offered are through the American Safety Health Institute (ASHI). Basic knowledge and application of these skills is taught in a group setting by a trained instructor and feedback is given to students throughout the class. Individual participation is encouraged and welcomed for better learning! These classes are appropriate for those who need a CPR/AED and/or First Aid card and for those who want to learn the skills in a relaxed and fun environment for personal reasons.

*These classes do not meet the requirements to be used as prerequisites to get into any medical program.

* NWFR does not offer classes to businesses.

Our classes are free to the public. Donations of nonperishable food item(s) are encouraged but not mandatory. All food donations will be forwarded to the area food banks and are accepted at every class.

These classes have a maximum size of 14 students per session to ensure an adequate student to instructor ratio. Due to this, our classes can fill up quickly.

Facial masks may be required by individual instructors, please bring one.

Classes are approximately 3 to 3.5 hours long. After successful completion of the class, you will obtain an ASHI certified CPR/AED.

Topics in the CPR/AED class include but are not limited to:

Adult, child and infant CPR and emergencies
Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) use
Adult, child, and infant choking emergencies
Emergency situational awareness
Body Substance Isolation and how to protect yourself
Managing yourself and the emergency scene
Who can enroll in the course?

Classes are open for anyone ages 13 years or older. If the student is under the age of 18, a parent or guardian must accompany them to the class. The parent/guardian does not need to sign up for the class themselves if they are solely going to be there accompanying a minor. If the parent/guardian would like to participate and/or receive ASHI cards at the end of class, they will need to sign up as well. *These classes do not meet the requirements to be used as prerequisites to get into any medical program.

Once we resume classes, to register, please utilize the online sign-up form below. If the month is not listed on the sign-up sheet, the class has been filled.

Please complete the following form, someone will be in contact with you to confirm your registration. Once placed in the class you have chosen you will be sent a confirmation email. Please wait for a confirmation email regarding your placement in the class. You must RSVP to the email to confirm your spot. These classes fill up quickly and often have long waitlists. Without confirming your spot, the spot will be given to the next person on the waitlist. Thank you for your understanding.
